 Bay Area Summer Music Festival Wind Ensemble

  The Wind Ensemble is the cornerstone around which the Bay Area Summer Music Festival was formed. Comprised of high school students, college students, area professionals and band directors, the Wind Ensemble performs high quality music from the standard repertoire as well as newly composed works and serves to provide the highest possible quality musical experience for both performers and audiences. It is conducted by Music Director Jeffrey A. Spenner and a guest conductor established in the music field. 

For the 2010 season, the Guest Conductor will be Col. Timothy W. Foley, USMC, ret., 26th Director of the "President's Own" Marine Band, Chamber Orchestra, and Music Advisor to the White House. The Wind Ensemble will also feature saxophone soloist Bill Funke in local composer Catherine McMichael's piece, Sapphire
